Looking to make the first step into diving as a career? Your adventure into the professional levels of recreational scuba diving begins with the PADI Divemaster program!  

During the PADI Divemaster program, you learn dive leadership skills through both classroom and independent study. You complete water skills and stamina exercises, as well as training exercises that stretch your ability to organize and problem solve, as well as help others improve their diving. You put this knowledge into action through a structured internship with real students, working closely alongside PADI instructors.

A Divemaster is someone who serves others, a leader in diving and someone others turn to to solve problems, give advice, and assistance. A Divemaster is someone others look to, to make their diving safer and more fun, and they are vital to Instructors to make their training more efficient and enjoyable for their students. By the time you complete this course, you’ll have accomplished a great deal and have taken your first solid steps into dive leadership!!!  

Who can take part?

PADI Rescue divers or equivalent, over the age of 18. You’ve learned a great deal through your training and experience so far, and this course will take you into the ranks of the dive professional.

What does it involve?

The Divemaster course consists of 3 modules: Knowledge Development, Water Skills and Stamina, and Practical application. You’ll probably progress through all 3 simultaneously. This course takes a more flexible approach, especially as at Teign Diving we give you experience with real students, and not just simulated exercises. This means you finish this course with the knowledge and experience needed to crack on as a competent Divemaster. You will need to spend time on your own completing some of the assignments, preparing for the stamina assessments and carrying out independent study. 

Where?

The training takes place at a variety of locations in the Teignmouth and Torbay area, with the focus being at the Teign Diving Centre.

When?

Courses are run throughout the year with schedules that suit everyone. Generally you can expect this course to take from 2 to 8 months depending on your availability and flexibility! The more time you have, the more experiences we can give you!
