Teign Diving Centre...... We get you diving!!
Teign Diving Centre is located in Teignmouth Devon near Torquay and only 20 mins from the M5 at Exeter! The Centre is easily accessible and has access to the dive sites of both Lyme Bay and Torbay, Torquay. We operate dive trips to wrecks like the Boma and Radaas in the east of Lyme Bay right down to the Medina off Start Point to the west of Dartmouth and Torquay. Our boats run trips to sites like the HMS EMpress of India in the Centre of Lyme Bay and further afield!
Diving is easy from Teign diving Centre with a car park right outside the Centre and the boat departure only 2 minutes from the Centre. Teign Diving Centre is the premier PADI 5 star IDC Diving Centre in South Devon, Torquay and Exeter and is regularly visiitng a large range of dive sites including, Wreck Diving, Reef Diving, Deep Diving, Technical Diving and Drift Diving. Our sites range from 10m reef dives to 65m+ Wreck dives with reef and wreck sites in the 18-20m range and more thana dozen wreck dives in the range of 20-40m.

Dive Boats |Teignmouth | Plymouth
The Diving Centre operates 2 Dive Boats from Teignmouth and a Dive Boat from Plymouth. Teignmouth has Seaquest, a 10m Lochin Dive Boat equipped for 12 divers upto 60 miles offshore! Seaquest is available to charter as well as being used for day trip dives and evening dives, find out more here. We also operate a fast 6.75m RIB from Teignmouth, that carries 8 divers upto 20 miles from shore, and is available to charter or trailer if required at
other locations! From our Plymouth centre in Queen Annes Battery, we operate Phoenix, an 11m twin engined RIB carrying 12 divers 20 miles from shore! Phoenix is available for charters as well as day trips from Plymouth enabling us to reach all the popular sites to the West of Start Point, slacombe and into Cornwall! The Diving Centre offers unrivalled access to high quality South Devon diving!!

As a PADI 5 star IDC we pride ourselves on some amazing diving opportunities off either Seaquest, our hard boat or our RIB! We can offer guided diving for those who are inexperienced or are looking for a local orientation to UK diving with some of the most experienced Instructors and Divemsaters in the area, right through drift diving and deep wreck diving!

Teign Diving Centre is also an IANTD Technology Centre and a PADI TecRec Centre for Technical Diving. The Centre offers a complete range of services for the technical diver. We offer Nitrox and Trimix filling as well as deep offshore diving and wreck exploration trips. The Centre is also "Rebreather friendly" with many Inspiration and similar divers using Seaquest for our offshore trips!

Dive Boats, Charter Boats and Dive Shuttles
Hard Boats and RIB's for Diving and General Charter!
The Dive Centre operates 2 boats from Teignmouth and 1 boat from Queen Anne's Battery in Plymouth.
From Teignmouth we operate SeaQuest, a 33ft Charter Boat licensesd to operate 60nm, with a side lift, available for charters 7 days a week and also operating for individual divers at weekends.
From our Teignmouth Dive Centre we also operate a 6.8m RIB licensed to carry 8 divers and available to be trailored if required to different areas, the RIB is fast (excess of 50 knots!), and is used for RYA training as well as safety cover for marine events.
From our Plymouth Dive Centre we operate a 10m Humber RIB, Phoenix, licensed for 12 divers, with twin outboards. Phoenix is available for charter for groups 7 days a week and is operating every weekend for individuals as well as running midweek trips throughout the year.
All our boats are skippered by dive skippers and are available for Diving Charters throughout Devon and into Cornwall, including Lyme Bay, Torbay, Dartmouth, Salcombe and Plymouth Sites. The boats are also available for filming work, event saftey cover, Angling Charters, Survey Work and pretty much any other use. Our skippers have many years experience in a variety of Marine capacities including Diving, Tugboats, Sailing, Teaching/Instructing and Angling.

Quality Diver training courses at Devon's Premier PADI 5 Star Diving Centre!
Teign Diving Centre has been delivering the highest quality PADI diver training for over 20 years and is the most established PADI 5 Star IDC Diving Centre in the South West. As a PADI IDC (Instructor Development Centre) we are able to train wannabe divers from their first Discover Scuba Diving session in a pool through the PADI Open Water Diver Course, the world's most popular Diver Training Qualification, on to PADI Specialities and right through to becoming a Professional Diving Instructor with PADI the Worlds largest Diver Training organisation.
Teign Diving Centre is the only Dive Centre in the South West with a PADI Course Director permanently employed, and better still running the Centre and monitoring the Diver Training. We train hundreds of divers every year with our team of full time and dedicated part time instructors and divemasters.
We are the only Dive Centre in the area with regular pool training sessions and as such we incorporate pool skill development for as many courses as possible, assisting divers to learn skills thouroughly prior to putting the skills into practice in the Open Water. As a coastal based Centre with some of the UK's finest coastline we always endevour to get divers diving in the Sea around the coast and from boats etc. so that during training divers experience real local diving!
Teign Diving Centre Diver Training courses are always priced as a fully inclusive option (unless stated otherwise) and as such there are no hidden extra charges, and all courses are performance based allowing student divers plenty of opportunity to complete the course without additional charges. As we operate our own dive boats from Teignmouth and Plymouth we are able to include boat diving in our prices where applicable and offer a wider scope of dive sites for training dives.
As one of the few Technical Diving Centres in the South West supplying both Nitrox and Trimix at all times and offering technical diving trips from our dive boats we also offer a complete range of technical diver training including closed circuit (CCR) and Open Circuit training through to Technical Diving Instructor. We offer both IANTD and also PADI TecRec training from entry level to Instructor in both agencies. Again wherever possible our courses are priced as fully inclusive options.
With the Centre being based on the coast we are also an RYA training Centre specialising in Powerboat training but we also offer a range of shore based courses and yachtmaster assessmnet etc. so check out our RYA training to see if we can offer you anything there!!

PADI Tec Rec | Technical Diver Training
Add some depth to your life
Technical diving takes experienced and qualified divers deeper than recreational diving and is therefore defined as ‘diving other than conventional commercial or research diving that takes divers beyond recreational scuba diving limits’. Technical diving also requires more equipment and training in order to manage the additional hazards that this type of diving entails.
Tec diving offers those individuals a chance to visits underwater places that relatively few people can, in respects to recreational diving. There are a number of amazing wrecks that lie below 40m that remain untouched as well as deep reefs that provide a habitat to many marine organisms that you simply don’t find in shallow reefs. Whether you enjoy the focus or challenge of Tec diving or being involved with cutting edge technologies, it is these reasons that people find Tec diving rewarding.
The PADI TecRec Program
The PADI TecRec programmes are integrated into an instructionally valid and seamless course flow that takes you from the beginning of Tec diving to someone who is qualified to use a number of different gas mixes. At each level you will be introduced to new gear as well as planning and procedures that are appropriate to extend you diving limits. The Tec Diver program is broken down into three sub courses: Tec 40, Tec 45 and Tec 50, these courses can be completed continuously or alternatively each course can be completed separately with a time span between them.
Prerequisites
TecRec prerequisites vary (see individual course descriptions), but the following applies to anyone interested in technical diving: You must be
- 18 years or older
- A mature, responsible person who will follow the required procedures and requirements strictly and faithfully
- Medically fit for Tec diving (physician’s signature required)
- Willing to accept the added risks that Tec diving presents
- An experienced diver with at least 100 logged dives
- Certified as a PADI Enriched Air Diver and PADI Deep Diver or equivalent (for this program equivalency is proof of training in recreational deep diving 18 meters/60 feet to 40 meters/130 feet consisting of at least four dives and training in nitrogen narcosis considerations, contingency/emergency decompression, making safety stops and air supply management OR, have a minimum of 20 logged dives deeper than 30 meters/100 feet.)

DAN... (The Divers Alert Network)
DAN offer a large range of courses for divers to enahnce the skills to deal with Scuba Diving emergencies. DAN also operates and maintains an international network of alarm centre's, active 24 hours a day, guaranteeing, in the event of an emergency, specialized assistance, to any diver, anywhere in the world.
DAN also provides diving medical advice, carries out researchinto diving safety, organizes courses and seminars with the aim of increasing the knowledge and sense of responsibility of recreational divers and provides financial and technical assistance to hyperbaric treatment centers in developing countries.

The PADI Open Water Diver Course
Learning to dive is easy with the PADI Open Water Diver Course here at Teign Diving Centre. The course is taught in relaxed, fun and friendly way by professional PADI instructors, using the most current training techniques. We have all sorts of different schedules and options to suit everyone, from a part-time course to an intensive 5 day course, whatever your committments we should be able to help you!.
The PADI Open Water Diver Certification is the worlds most popular and sought after diving qualification. Divers everywhere in the world learn to scuba dive with PADI! During the the Open Water Course you'll learn all the skills you need to dive safely and competently, whilst gazing in awe and amazement at the inccredible underwater world - fthe most incredible experience!
For those who want to become a qualified diver and perhaps don't have the time there is also the PADI Scuba Diver Course, essentially half a PADI Open Water Diver course. As a PADI Scuba Diver you will be qualified to dive throughout the world with a PADI professional.
As A PADI Open Water Diver you will be qualified to dive anywhere in the world to a maximum depth of 18m (divers under 15 years old have depth restrictions), with a buddy.
The PADI Open Water Diver and the PADI Scuba Diver course are open to all ages from 10 upwards. We're often asked f you need to be able to swim to dive. Well yes you do, but you don't need to be an olympic level swimmer! If you can swim 200m in a pool and treadwater for 10 minutes, then you can learn to divce!

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course (Often referred to as the PADI Advanced) is the next stage for most PADI Open Water Divers. Once qualified you will be able to dive to a maximum depth of 30m (Or the depth you get experience to during your course). The course enables you to experience 5 new Adventure Dives which will include the PADI Deep Adventure Dive and the PADI Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive along with 3 additional dives.
As ever at Teign Diving Centre we have a variety of options that reflect the flexible nature of all PADI training courses and all courses include our highly praised voucher booklets that encourage you to continue diving by offering half price dives and massive discounts on specialist diving equipment!!
