Whether you’ve never made a boat dive or you’ve logged dozens, the PADI Boat Diver Speciality course can benefit almost every diver because different boats in different parts of the world do things differently. The PADI Boat Diver Specialty course familiarizes you with the various ways you stow gear, enter and exit the water, use surface lines and more, depending upon the type boat and the location.

At Teign Diving Centre you get the opportunity to complete your PADI Boat Diver course dives from our hard boat, Seaquest. She's a 10m hardboat and is licensed for diving up to 60 miles from shore, although we won't be going that far on the course! On board are the all important Loo and tea and coffee making facilities.  And best of all, there's a lift for getting back on board at the end of the dives, which makes life so easy!

Who's the PADI Boat Diver for, what you get, when and how!

  • You need to be a PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization).

  • The course price includes the PADI Boat Diver Speciality Manual which you need to read beforehand - oh, and the price includes your boat space and air. 
  • There are 2 dives during which you will put into practice the theory you've read and dsicussed with your instructor.
  • The course covers techniques for diving from boats ranging from small inflatables to giant live-aboards and discusses how dive boats differ from place to place, and basic boat safety equipment and use.
  • Your PADI Boat Diver Certification is also included.
  • Certification counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
