The Pipes is an artificial reef created when a Dutch barge lost its cargo, or possibly dumped its cargo, of 20ft long steel pipes near to London Bridge a sea arch in Torbay. The pipes lay in 7-10m of water and provide an ideal home for a wide selection of marine life including crabs, Conger eels and lobsters. The site is in the same area that the Duke of Marlborough sank in a storm in 1836, although to our knowledge she has never been located!
The pipes is a great dive for newly qualified Open Water Divers or for those looking for some great marine life.
